Review: Nicole by OPI 'It Starts With Me'

Well, hi! It's been quite long since I posted something about beauty but here's a review! With the title being pretty self-explanatory, I'm gonna be reviewing the Nicole by OPI nail polish in 'It Starts With Me' today :)
This color is so good! It's like a rose gold and it has some shimmers in it. I just don't know why I didn't use this before, I bought it like a year ago and this is like my 3rd use of this, max. I love the color so much! And the constancy of it is so nice. It is more liquidy than your usual nail polish but with this color, it makes it so much easier to apply on your nails. Also the brush, in my opinion, makes the whole process a lot easier as well. It took me 2 coats to get an opaque color, maybe 3 would have worked better but 2 is just as good.
I used the Essence Studio Nails Base Coat as my base(duh) and Sally Hensen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat, guess what, as a top coat, yes! And the Sally Hensen top coat is a whole another story, it is so amazing that it earns its own review so look out for that!
Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give a 9,5 to this pretty shimmery polish that I'm currently staring at on my nails :) And in order to make it 10 points, I would make it a tiny bit more opaque but like I said, 3 coats would be perfect, I'm just too lazy :) Go to your drugstore or Ulta or online, wherever, and buy this if you like goldy-rosey-shimmery colors on your nails!

Jealousy has my WHAT?

Jealousy is a feeling that we don't have the hold of. I personally believe that I get really jealous is certain cases. (Maybe instead of 'really', 'too' would fit in better.) I'd be jealous everybody, even a stranger has the power of making me jealous. But what people don't understand is I don't like to show it too much. That's just who I am, I know it's not the best. I also don't show my anger and sadness to the world but that's a whole another topic.
I'm currently in the situation where I feel like I'm slowly losing my best friend to another close friend. And that feeling just sucks the blood out of my heart leaving me looking at the ceiling with no emotion what so ever. Maybe it's just me, me over-thinking and my brain pointing out her behaviors against me but this situation just bothers me so much. Maybe she's reading this right now, not believing that this is how I really feel because I don't show it, or maybe she's noticed something different about me during the last few days that we hung out. Either way, nothing has changed about her.
She's been canceling our plans and not returning my calls. What I'm probably gonna do is back off of her a little bit hoping that this'll make her understand what really is going on inside of me.
I think jealousy has my control right now. Can't think of a way to take the wheel back in my hands but I guess waiting is the name of the road that I'm driving on.

Thinking...

People think. It's in our nature, our brains are operated to do so. But what's bad about it is we sometimes cannot control the amount. A lot of people that I know over think. They think of each and every possibility that could happen in each and every situation and let me tell you, it's no good for you.
There are some situations where you are not fully aware of what's going on and you start to think of what might have happened, who did what and what led the situation to where it is and you get so carried away, you start to blame people of what they might have (or haven't) done. And how you do that is based on how you see people. For instance, if there's a person that is involved in the situation but you don't like them very much, you start thinking of what bad things they might've done that made things worse. If they did what you imagined them doing, then good for you, you should be a psychic. But most of the time, the scenario that you've made up in your mind is so far away from the truth that it makes you start thinking of a future scenario which probably won't happen and that just will leave you disappointed.
I guess what I'm saying is don't blame people of what they might have done and don't wish nasty things to happen to them just because of your imagination. Just wait, ask questions and figure out the truth. Trust me, I've learnt it the hard way, it's easier than thinking.

January Favorites!

Hello! Today, since January is over, I thought I'd share my favorite beauty products for this month. Now, I went to India 2 weeks ago and boy, it was amazing! And here's a picture of my henna or as they call it, mendhi:

So let's start with my favorites:
  • MAC Studio Fix in NC35

I bought this from India with all the other MAC products I will talk about later, but this is just amazing :) It gives enough coverage so I don't have to use any foundation, I only use a little bit of concealer and this. It is literally the best powder that I've ever used.

  • Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown

This product is so raved that I had to try it and I'm glad I did! I'm still on the hunt for the black one, I can't find it anywhere but the brown one is great as well :) I do like using brown eyeliner with brown eyes which happens to be my case and with an angled brush and this, I'm good to go :)

  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 30 Pomegranate Punk

I mentioned this in my last post which shows a very odd and different way to use this product but since I was in India, I went a little out with my make up :) This is a great base color to warm up the eyeshadows that you're gonna be putting on later and it goes perfect with smokey looks.

  • Maybelline One By One Volum' Express Mascara

I just noticed that this is my 3rd Maybelline product this month but, I just like'em :) This mascara is great for natural looks. My favorite on is still the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! but mine dried up and it's not sold in Turkey so I might have to buy one online :) Anyway, this has a plastic wand which is tapered in both ends. I don't know if my last sentence makes sense but I think you understand what I mean.

  • Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller

This product used to make my eyes watery, I don't know what changed about it but it doesn't now and I like it more than any other under eye concealers that I have. It conceals and brightens that area at the same time so it is great but a little tip: put the product on and wait for a couple of seconds then blend it out.

  • Sigma E20 Short Shader Brush

This is perfect for blending out any eyeliner mistakes that you might have made :) I don't use this with the brown gel eyeliner that I just mentioned but instead, I use it with pencil eyeliners and not only it makes the mistakes go away, it gives a great look as well.

  • Benefit High Beam

I bought this in summer and I also hauled it but I'm now getting around using it and it just gives the perfect glow to your face :) It's on the pricier side but I think it is worth it.

  • MAC Amplified Lipstick in Dark Side

I've been on the market for a dark burgundy lipstick and I finally found it! I was actually gonna buy the lipstick in Diva which is as good but they were sold out so I got this instead and it's so pretty! You can wear it sheer or opaque, however you'd like and it'll look great on everyone.

And that's it! Thnak you for reading!

Weirdest Tip Ever!

Hey! So today, I will be sharing a weird tip I found recently :) I was thinking about buying a burgundy lipstick and a strange idea just appeared in my mind. Why don't I use my 'Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk' on my lips? It will probably last all day and it's a really cute color! So I tried it and took pictures for you! Here they are:

And here it is when I add a lipgloss on:

Review: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure 660

Hi! Today I will be showing you a nail polish that I literally just bought and put on :) It's Sally Hansen's Salon Manicure polish in 660 'Pat on the Black'. It is a really deep purple, almost like black polish but it looks so great! I only put 2 coats and it's pretty thick as well which I like :) And also, I generally love Sally Hansen's applicators, they are quite wide and I feel like it makes it so much easier to apply the polish on my nails. If you put a thick coat, you probably could get away with just one coat because it's pretty opaque but I personally like 2 coats better. You can see a picture of it if you scroll just a little bit down and that's it for today!
Thank you so much for reading!

New Year's Resolutions 2013 :)

Hi!! I know I haven't blogged for a while and there's no excuse for it, I'm not gonna say that I had exams and blah blah but I just didn't blog, can't really figure out why :) So I apologize and continue with today's post which is my new year's resolutions for 2013 :) I've had 6 resolutions last year and only one of them, I couldn't do as I promised myself but this year, hopefully, I'll be able to do all of my resolutions :) So let's begin :)

--> Study More!
This was the left out resolution last year and this year, I will keep my promise and study well :)

--> Continue to Lose Weight & Have a Better Fitness Routine!
I have lost 9 kgs in the past 3 months and I gotta say, I'm really proud of myself :) It's not bragging but it feels better now than in the past, you know :) When I'm done losing the weight I've planned myself to, I will definitely do a blog post all about it and tell you what I've done :) And, I currently take dance classes 3 days a week and take a plates class once a week so I wanna keep this as it is and/or make it better :)

--> Start Writing a Diary!
I really wanna start writing the important events in my life, maybe not daily but as they happen if you know what I mean :) I feel like it'll be really fun to write and read my memories as I grow up and it will also help me not to forget them :)

--> Play More Music!
I play the saxophone and the piano but the thing is, I don't play them as often as I should so one of my goals is to play and make more music in 2013.

--> Read More!
I'm not the best reader and it literally is bad that I don't read as often as I should. Reading is one of the best things and I know it sounds like a cliche but it definitely helps to improve my personality, you know. So I wanna read more books this year :)

--> Start Talking in French!
I've been learning French for years and I can usually understand what I hear but I just can't talk! So that's what I wanna improve, my French speaking ability :)

--> Post More on this Blog!
OK, this year I will be posting more on this blog! I haven't been the best blogger last year and I wanna be a better one this year :) I'm not promising anything but at least one post a week, hopefully will be posted on this blog in 2013 :)

So that's it for my resolutions for 2013 and I'm hoping to keep all of my promises :) I will do an update a year later telling you if I kept my promises and share my resolutions for the following year :) I also will be doing the "Best of 2012 Tag" in a week or so so you can hopefully discover some more stuff for the new year :)

I'm really thankful for everyone in my life, my family, my friends, my readers (even though it's not a big number of people :) ,.. and I'm wishing everyone a happy new year, I hope 2013 will bring you luck, love, success and I do hope your wishes come true :)

Thank you so much for reading!
Happy Holidays!
Happy New Year!

Put Your Gold On: China Glaze Champagne Bubbles

Hey! Today I will be doing a review on a China Glaze nail polish that I bought recently called "Champagne Bubbles". It's a pretty festive color and I've kinda been trying to get into the festive mood if you know what I mean :D it's a pretty gold color with silver glitter in it and it looks so cute! It totally is a festive color and pretty appropriate to wear around this time :) I used the Rimmel London Nail Rescue as a base coat and put 2 coats on of the golden one. I'll stick in a picture of it now :)

Ps: The photo on the left top corner is just one coat and the one on the top right corner is 2 coats.

Favorite Songs from Eurovision 2012

Hey everyone! So I was thinking of ideas to post while listening to the soundtrack of Eurovision 2012 and guess what? I thought why not do a favorites on these songs? If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I went to see it live which was a huge opportunity for me, I've been watching it every year as long as I can remember and I got the chance to watch it live this year :) I did quite a lot posts on it so I'll link them here, here and here :) Baku was such an amazing city, it was bad that I was only there for 2 days, if you've watched the show, you'll know that the nickname for Baku was "City of Lights" and it is 300% true. It was beautiful, if you have a chance to go there someday, you definitely should :) Anyway, I'll start of with the songs with no particular order :)

This is a really great song with lyrics and everything and come on, Roman Lob is cute :D But I really like the song and will keep listening to it :)

When I hear this song, I just wanna dance, I mean it's just a happy little song, I just love it :D And you should too :)

I think it's needless to say that Loreen won because you might probably know :) But I really like her voice and the song, obviously :D And am I the only one who thinks she looks like Carly Rae Jepsen?

She has an A-MAZ-ING voice! Like she's got that Christina Aguilera feeling to it! She sounds so well and the song is also A-MAZ-ING! I love it :)

This song was as far as I remember, the last but I love the lyrics of this song! "If you love someone, follow your heart. Because love comes once if you're lucky enough." So beautiful! I love the song!
This girl looks and sounds so much like Amy Winehouse like, as if they were sisters! You gotta check out a picture of her! Anyway, I've started singing in Italian thanks to this song :D It is a beautiful language and song!
I don't understand half of this song but that doesn't stop me from listening to it :) I learn French at school and I kinda try to understand and sing but I'm not doing it very well :D
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la love :D I didn't like this song when I first heard it but now I do! It's catchy!
This. Song. Is. Addictive! Even though this was second to last, I love love love this song so much! I just makes me wanna dance! Please, listen to it and give me a sensible reason for it not being better at the competition!
This. Song. Is. Addictive. #2 :D His voice is so powerful and great, like, it's impossible not to love it! And his performance was amazing even though he didn't have anyone else on stage! And, again, he is darn cute!
MY FAVORITE SONG, obviously :D I saved the best (in my opinion) for last :D I just love this song and it makes me smile every single time I listen to it :D Funny little-maybe-not-so-much story: On my birthday, I went to his concert, me and my friends held up a sign that it was my birthday and HE CELEBRATED my birthday! (Sorry for yelling in your head :) It was the best birthday! OK, moving on, the song, yes the song :) It combines traditional Turkish music with the Eastern music and it sounds so amazing! He also has a great voice!

And that's it for this post! You can click on the names to watch their performances live on the Grand Final! I hope this post helped you find some more international singers/songs, thanks for reading and...

OCTOBER FAVORITES!

Hii! Today I will be sharing my faves for the month of October! I don't have many favorites but I kinda feel bad for not doing this post last month so I'm just gonna get started!

  • Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Powder Blush:

This, I mentioned in my haul post earlier, I love, it's a really really big brush and it's soft so it is perfect for applying powder on your face and that's obviously what I use it for! I really like this brush :)

  • Lush Enzymion Facial Moisturizer:

This moisturizer is a really light and perfect for oily skin :) I asked for a really light moisturizer which can be used for oily skin and she gave me this so I've been using this since March and you won't believe how much you have to use! It's like I dab my finger in it and BAM that's it! It goes a really really long way!

  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium and Garnier BB Cream in Medium:

I mentioned the Maybelline one in the haul as well and now that the summer's gone, my tan is kinda faded so the Garnier one in Medium is a little dark for me but Maybelline is still a bit lighter than my skin. So guess what I do? Yep, I mix them together :D It gives me the perfect color and it's still a great BB Cream :D I love them both!

  • Bare Minerals All Over Face Color in Warmth:

I use this as a bronzer and this is so pigmented! I dab my brush on the cap once and that's enough for a cheek most of the time. I really like the color as well, it's matte, dark ad obviously pigmented :) I'd recommend this for the people who are on the market for a new bronzer :)

  • EOS Hand Lotion in Berry Blossom:

Paraben-free, smells so good, moisturizes, what could be better? I saw Blair or JuicyStar07 on Youtube about this and decided to buy it. Well, I made the right decision :) It makes my hands so soft and smooth like, you can't guess and it smells really good AND it's paraben-free! Like come on :D

  • Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes!:

I love this mascara! I did a review on this and this is the only mascara that can give so much volume and length to my lashes!

  • Essence Gel Eyeliner in 01 Midnight in Paris:

My go-to eye look has been this and a mascara lately and I love it! I'm kinda sad that I couldn't find any other drugstore gel liners the in Turkey so I bought this! It kinda creases after 8 hours but I wouldn't expect it not to :) Anyway, this has been my go-to look recently :) Oh, and I use these brushes with it :)

I obviously use the angled one to apply the liner and the pencil brush to blend and smoke it out a little bit :D I  love how it turns out :D

Review: OPI Alpine Snow!

Hey readers! Today I thought I'd share a new polish I found that I really like! I've been looking for an opaque matte white nail polish for the longest time, I thought I'd found it more than 63728 times but I was disappointed when I tried them. This time, it was different :D I saw this polish while I was watching CutePolish on Youtube and immediately wanted to get it :) It took me a while to buy it though because OPI is kinda expensive in Turkey but I finally bought it a couple of weeks ago and decided to do a review! So here it is :)
OPI Alpine Snow is an opaque white matte nail polish like i said and you can get away with one thick coat but personally if I'm not in a rush, I'd put on 2 coats. In the picture below, I have 2 coats of Alpine Snow and on my ring finger, I have Rimmel London's Disco Gold which looks really cute over the white :) I personally like wearing legit white on my nails, it's not everybody's taste but if you like it, then I'd definitely recommend this to buy :) You can also play around with glitter polish over the white to make it a little more fun :)

DIY Glitter Nail Polish!

Hi! So a couple of weeks ago, I bought a container of red glitter to do some glittery nail polish and yesterday, I tried it and it worked out really well! I thought I'd share it with you!

What You Need:
-- Cheap clear nail polish
-- Glitter in the color of your choice
-- Paper

1. You want to lay out a paper so you won't get glitter everywhere.
2. Take out the brush of your clear nail polish and put it aside on your paper.
3. Take your glitter and put it in the polish as much as you want, I'd recommend putting a lot! :D
4. Put the brush back in and shake it up really well :)
5. Clean the mess you've made :D

My polish has kind of a red tint to it now but I mean it would still look cute on other colors as well :) But this might be hard to take off of your nails, just FYI. I haven't tried to take it off yet, but it looks so cool!

Review: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!

HI! As I mentioned on my last post, I bought the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and decided to do a review on it! It was raved a lot around the beginning of summer and it makes so much sense! I love it and it's probably my favorite mascara now! I've got really thin and straight lashes and well, let me just show you what it does :)
BEFORE
1 COAT
2 COATS
Sorry, I guess I tried to open my eye a little too much in the last pic but I mean, you can definitely see a huge difference! And, what I also like about this is the fact that it's not so hard to take off. I mean, all of the mascaras that I've used are hard to take off including this but this is easier than the others. What I do is I just wet my fingers and take it off, then I go over with make up remover and voila! It's gone! So if you're looking for a mascara, this is a great one to go with :)

PS: My lashes were curled in the "before" pic, just wanted to include that :D

HAUL: Ulta & Online!

Hello there! So recently one of my closest friends went to New York and Boston so I ordered some stuff for her to buy. OK, maybe more than some but I was too excited :D And I ordered something online as well so I will share them today! Let's get into everything!

We'll start with online shopping and get it out of the way :)

  • Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion: I have the baby size of this that came with the Naked Palette and I love it so much that I ordered one online before I ran out :) And the site I ordered it from is called BeautyBay.com and it's free shipping worldwide! Score!
Let's move onto Ulta!

  • Benefit High Beam: I did a long research online on the best highlighters and their price in Turkey and decided on this! I just swatched it on my hand but I feel like I'm gonna like it a lot!

  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes: This was raved a lot a while ago and I now know why! I just tried it today, before I started writing this post and it made my lashes look long and thick without making them spider lashes! I'm thinking about doing a whole review post on this so look out for that!
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm: This was not my first choice but she couldn't find that one so instead, she bought this for me :) This is like a light natural nude color which I really like.
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet: I really liked this color when I was looking at Ulta's site so I just ordered it :) Nothing really special but I really like these jumbo eye pencils :)
  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio for Brown Eyes: This is a funny story, I actually wanted the gel liner, you know, in a pot :) But I'm guessing she couldn't see and/or find it so I have these :) But these glide on so easily and I love them!
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows in Pomegranate Punk and Bold Gold: I really wanted some of the colors from the limited edition that just came out but she was back in town when they came out so I was out of luck but I still love these! Especially Bold Gold!
  • EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint: I. Love. The. Smell. Of. This. So. Much! Like, when you open the cap,  you can smell mint from a mile away, almost :D And unlike the pink one that I can't remember the name of, this really moisturizes my lips! But IT SMELLS AMAZING!
  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium: I haven't had the chance to try this out yet because it's a little bit light for me now but in a month probably, I'll try this out and let you know :D
  • Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched: I feel like I ordered too many Maybelline products but, oh well :) This, again, smells amazing, like lemons! MissGlamorazzi or Ingrid on Youtube raves about this so much so I bought it :D
  • EOS Hand Lotion in Berry Blossom: This moisturizes my hands so well, in fact, I'm gonna put it on now :) I'm guessing I don't have to say that this smells amazing like all the EOS products!
  • Real Techniques Powder Brush: I had washes this before taking this photo and that's why it looks kinda small but it's the biggest brush that I've ever owned! I haven't used it yet but it would be great for applying powder all over your face and the bristles are so soft!
And that's it! I'm really excited to use all the stuff and blog about it!

Good morning! / Goodnight!

TAG: Summer Most Worn Things

HEY! I watched tons of people doing this tag and it seemed fun so I wanted to post my most worn things in summer! Let's begin!

  • Most Worn Nail Polish:

This is China Glaze's Kinetic Candy and I always reach out for this polish when I can't choose which polish to wear. I put 2 coats on and it is an opaque baby blue color which I love, obviously :D

  • Most Worn Hair Product:

I did a whole review on this product so I won't talk about it too much but when I don't feel like styling my hair with heat which I rarely do in summer, I use this spray to style my hair :) And btw, this is John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Styling Spray :D
  • Most Worn Bag:

This is a bag that I got as a birthday present from Mavi and I almost used this every day! It's small but it fits the things I want to have with me so what could go wrong?

  • Most Worn Shoes:

I got these babies from Burlington when I was in LA and they were like 15 bucks but I literally lived in these and you probably can tell that by the stain of my feet :)

  • Most Worn Accesories:

Yep, those are my ears... These are the earrings I NEVER took off! Well, just once, I wore hooks once but I sleep with these studs, I take showers with these studs, I do everything with these studs on!

  • Most Worn Clothing Item:

This is a picture I found online because my pair of these shorts are currently being washed :D But I really like these shorts, especially the color and the way that they fit :) They are boyfriend jean shorts so they fit kinda loose. Oh and they are from H&M :)

  • Most Worn Foundation:

I don't use foundation at all, this and a setting powder, I'm good to go :) It's the Garnier BB Cream in Medium which matches my face because of the tan I got during the vacation  but I'm actually thinking about buying the lighter shade for winter :) I love this product!

  • Most Worn Blush / Bronzer:

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny :) Yes, this is my fave bronzer as well as the other 10 thousand people :D But it just is a good product! And I'm not a blush person so I don't have anything to show you :D
  • Most Worn Lip Product:

I already talked about this in my July Faves Post as well as some other products but this is the Dior Addict Lipstick in 253 which I carry with me all the time! Like I said before, this is my go-to lipstick

  • Most Worn Mascara:

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black is my favorite mascara! I did mention this earlier but it just really works! I love it!

  • Most Worn Eyeshadow:
This is the Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze :) The name is just so cute not to like! When I wear makeup, I usually put on some mascara. bronzer, BB Cream and a lipstick but when I feel like taking it to the next level, I use this bad girl! And the best thing is this doesn't crease at all! I guess that's what it's supposed to do, 24 hour eyeshadow, dah! But anyway, I love it!

And those are the most worn things in summer of mine! This was fun! And guess what's more fun? When you're reading this, I'll be on vacation, I'll be scheduling it to this day haha!

Thanks for reading!
